Characterization of when C(X) is homogeneous

Theorem

Let $X$ be a nondegenerate continuum. Then the following are equivalent:

1. the $C(X)$ is homogeneous
2. $X$ is a Peano continuum with no free arc
3. $C(X)$ is homeomorphic to a Hilbert cube.
